Students in the News Group try their hand at journalism. Writing for their Stage 3 peers, they contribute articles to the current issue, published each term. The team discusses and agrees on topics that will appeal to their readers. Once ‘assigned’ an article, they determine the 'angle of interest'. They also envisage the article layout and decide who and how many students to interview. They brainstorm open questions to elicit detailed responses. Then they interview their peers, write and edit their article. The team selected the Canva design features of their newsletter which Mrs Dyer uses to publish their writing. The group helps coordinate the Media Team to take photos that accompany their articles. This way, budding writers, photographers and students featured in articles have their talents showcased as an informative and entertaining newsletter to their peers.
