Primary Writers
Students in Years 4 to 6 who enjoy writing and would like to use their imagination to create stories, poems and other literary works are invited to apply for the Primary Writers group at the beginning of the year. During one lunch time each week, the selected students meet to write and share creative ideas with other members of the group. Primary Writers have several opportunities to submit their work to writing competitions throughout the year including the following:
· Dymocks Beyond Words
· Living Stories Western Sydney Writing Prize
· Poem Forest
· Whitlam Institute: What Matters?
· WriteOn
Authors feel a sense of pride when their writing is appreciated by others. A few of our students have won national writing competitions and others are published authors with their work being featured in books.
